about me
I didn’t set out to be a designer. After high school, I moved to the big city, went to art school and got my BFA. But while my classmates were spending their time applying for grants and schmoozing at openings, I was devouring and dissecting typefaces and pouring over layout. Before I knew it, graphic design had seduced me into changing my focus.
It’s a little unusual, but I start every job with a pencil and paper. I can draw, paint and pull my own prints. I especially love to create custom letterforms, if that’s what’s right for the piece. As an added plus, I know how to whip massive, unwieldy documents into shape and I can set miles of copy like nobody’s business.
Besides my work, I love the Lindy Hop and other jazz-era dances, crosswords, vintage ephemera, This American Life podcasts, Elvis, my 1964 Eaton’s Road King bicycle (also named Elvis), and hanging out with my family at home or by the lake. I am also increasingly obsessed with baking, cooking and the politics of food.

After operating Bees’ Knees Dance in Toronto for 10 years, Reesa has been instrumental in helping me to roll out my business in a second city. I had already turned to Reesa for promotional materials that helped me to grow my business in the Toronto area and her bright visionary work helped set me apart in a town full of very stiff competition.
With my business launch in the Niagara area, Reesa’s ability to produce an entire promotional campaign from beginning, middle to end has been invaluable to my business. Not only is her design work outstanding but her project management, organizational skills and knack for coordinating with external printers, web developers and other related talent really pulled the project together. She kept the team on target, stuck to a time line and was able to deliver top results – not to mention saving me from a potential nervous breakdown! Thank you, Reesa, for helping me keep my sanity and for making my business launch such a success.
